Tips for white background product photo

Shoot in soft daylight near a window, avoid hard flash: the cut-out is cleaner when edges are evenly lit.
Leave space around the product so nothing touches the edge of the frame.
For eBay and Shopify the white doesn't have to be exact, but for Amazon's main image it must be exactly 255,255,255. ShelfShot always outputs exact white.

Amazon main image rules, checked automatically

Background must be pure white, RGB 255,255,255. Off-white or light grey gets flagged by Amazon's automatic checks.
The product should fill 85–100% of the frame.
1,000 px on the longest side enables zoom; 1,600 px+ is recommended and 2,000 × 2,000 is the safe choice.
Show only the product being sold. No text, logos, badges, watermarks, borders or props.
A real photo of the actual item, not a drawing or render that misrepresents it.

Questions

Is this really free?

Yes. The main image is free because the AI runs on your own device, so it costs us nothing. We sell an optional pack of lifestyle and feature images.

Do you upload my photo?

No, the cut-out happens in your browser. On older browsers we fall back to a secure cloud cut-out and delete the photo straight after.
